Assembling The Best Car In The World

When the VY Holden came out it was a breath of fresh air, which gave a new look and feel to the newest gen of Commodores at the time. The outside was completely remade and updated with more sharper features in contrast to the bubbly look of the VT and VX Commodore’s.

The VY Led Headlights were a more aggressive, angular styling. The luxury models were given a different style where as the standard versions still had what they called the tear drop in the headlight.

On the more top end models Holden introduced projector lights to the VY Led Headlights. At the time the VY Led Headlights for Commodore was created, top end Euro cars were gaining popularity in Australia, and Holden used a lot of famous features in this version.
A notable tail light step up was the the inclusion of triangular tail lights, which gave the tail of the VY Led Headlights a new look. Dependent on what model VY Led Headlights you owned, the rear end was given a different look. With the release of the VZ, Holden enthusiasts saw the end of the III Generation, and, overall the design did not change a whole lot. It did how ever get a new look front style and the once popular tear drop from the headlights was completely phased out. The top models still retained the now popular projector headlights.

The taillights were also innovated with the Calais specifically receiving a darker tint on the bottom half of the taillight.
There was a big gap between the VZ and the VE with some 9 years of development. Released in 2006 the VE Commodore reportedly cost around $1 Billion to improve. There was another first for Holden, with 100% of the plan done in house and not engineered outside of the country. The VE Commodore was the most belligerent produced Commodore to date with a broader stance, blazed guards and the front axle was pushed right to the front part of the VE Commodore as a branch of Holden’s purposes to build a 50/50 weight allocation.

The VE Commodore headlights were of a crossed style, identical to the previous VZ Commodore but were bigger complete. Once again faster styles has taken a black reflector and projector headlamps. The VE Commodore taillights also received fresh treatment with the more luxurious styles getting European design taillight while the flashier models including the SSV heralded the great looking black reflector tail lights with centre lamp and chrome border. One of the most familiar improvements for the standard design VE's was to give the back part a couple of SSV tail lights which right away enhanced style.

In a big move for Holden, the extravagant design HSV was given an absolutely fresh back end to give it a completely new and different look. This was another direction of HSV in specific changing to a more European style.
